NIS offers various types of shackles tailored for different applications. Screw Pin Shackles are ideal when frequent connection changes are needed, while Round Pin and Safety Pin Shackles are suitable for situations where the shackle can remain in place. Safety Pin Shackles feature a hex jam nut and a cotter pin to prevent the nut from loosening, making them perfect for applications with strict safety requirements. These shackles comply with Federal Specifications RRC-271D Type IV.
The maximum load rating for eye bolts is determined by a straight vertical lift applied gradually. Lifts at an angle will significantly reduce the load capacity and should be avoided when possible. If an angular lift is necessary, a shoulder pattern eye bolt that is properly seated must be used. The load should always be applied in the plane of the eye bolt, never at an angle to it. Angular lifts should never exceed a 45-degree pull.
